Chairman's Message
At Earth Rangers, we are driven by the belief that all children should have a healthy environment, an education and a chance to reach their full potential. We envision a future in which today’s children are able to access all of these things.
We can all make decisions today that will affect our children’s ability to enjoy clean drinking water, breathe clean air and explore wild spaces. But it’s not just about what we can do. Children are in fact a very powerful driving force for social change and can be a determined part of the solution.
Despite the environmental challenges we face today – climate change, habitat destruction, urban sprawl and more – I am an optimist. I believe that human beings are capable of great things. The feedback that Earth Rangers has received over the years from children has only encouraged and strengthened that belief. The number one question kids ask us is: How can I become an Earth Ranger? They’ve told us that they want to take action and become more involved in protecting our planet.
We are excited about our mission of inspiring children with a lasting passion to build a better future.
To make this mission a reality we are focused on three core areas:
Outreach. Our dynamic presentations in schools and other venues bring children face-to-face with non-releasable wildlife. The Animal Ambassadors help them make a first-hand, emotional connection with how their choices affect the world around them. The shows get kids excited about taking steps towards reducing our collective footprint.
Online. At
EarthRangers.com, kids will enter a world where they can become an official Earth Ranger, play environmentally-themed games, learn more about the Animal Ambassadors and connect with other like-minded kids. They’ll be the decision-makers in this online community and we’re confident they will begin to turn these experiences into real-world conservation actions.
Environmental technologies. Implementing innovative technologies will play a key role in providing relief for our stressed environment. The Earth Rangers Centre is a model environmental building with leading technologies in construction, and energy and water conservation.
Earth Rangers is an exciting place. It is made up of passionate people who desire to contribute their skills, intelligence and creativity to a vision for positive change. We are connected to a community of donors, volunteers, partners, parents and teachers who share our belief that children are the key to a healthier world for generations to come. I am grateful to be involved.
